Learning to dive

Do you offer beginner classes?
Yes we do!. If you want to experience what it’s like to scuba dive in a safe environment we do ‘try-scuba’ dives. These consist of an introduction to the equipment you will be using as well as some key skills for SCUBA diving. We then jump into the water and have a swim around.
Can I buy a try scuba session for a present?
Yes, a ‘try scuba’ session is a great gift idea for a friend or loved one. We can arrange a Discover Scuba Diving program for you. We have offered a number of these programs for Fathers Day and Christmas presents.
What age can I learn to dive?
Courses start as early as 8 with the PADI Bubble Maker and PADI Seal Team programs.
What equipment do I need?
We provide all the diving equipment you will need when you attend one of our courses. If you are going to be in the pool, you will need to bring a swimming costume, a towel and a t-shirt which you don’t mind getting wet in the water.

Pool Nights

When and where are your pool nights?
Our pool nights take place most Thursdays nights at Queen Mary’s Grammar School, Walsall, WS1 2PG from 19:00
How much do the pool nights cost?
Pool nights are just £4.00 a night or you can buy a year pool pass which is £30 for unlimited pool night attendance.
How deep is the pool?
The pool we use is 2 metres at the deep end, this is plenty for learning to dive and for qualified divers to just have a swim about.

Courses

What equipment will I need to do my open water course with you?
Normally we advise at some point during the course to buy your own scuba mask and snorkel. We are always happy to advise you on the differing types at any. You will need some pool kit ie swimming costume/trunks/shorts and t-shirt. All other equipment will be included for your course as required.
Is it possible to complete the pool and classroom sessions of my Open Water course with you and finish my course off on holiday?
Yes you can. The PADI Open Water Course can be split into 2 sections, this is known as a Referral. This gives you the opportunity to learn and practice your skills here in the UK, and then you can jet off to your holiday. Once on holiday you can arrange with the local PADI dive centre to finish your course.

General

I Haven't been in the water since my holiday last year, Can you help?
Yes, we can offer you a scuba review, which is where we reinforce you scuba knowledge and then a 1hr pool session practising your open water skills.
